Documentary Work

Open Doors, Open Minds | 2022

As I pursued my graduate degree, I worked on my thesis documentary titled Open Doors, Open Minds. It told the stories of students and faculty members from local LGBTQ+ college resource centers throughout south-central Pennsylvania, and discussed the challenges of being located in a conservative and rural area. I coordinated and filmed interviews with Gettysburg College, Penn State Harrisburg, Wilson College, and Shippensburg University. I wrote the script and edited the footage into a cohesive 53-minute story. It was incredible getting to hear so many diverse perspectives, and it was a privilege to share their stories with a wider audience.

The Zemba Family Story | 2021

In Spring 2021, I was given the opportunity to combine my professional goals with my personal passion of genealogy. My great-great grandparents were Slovak immigrants, and this documentary tells the story of my family's journey as well as the broader topic of Slovak immigration. I conducted several interviews, including the mayor of Lechnica, and I couldn't be more proud to tell the story of my family's surname.

Women in Leadership | 2020

In Fall 2020, I enrolled in COM 424: Producing and Performance at Shippensburg. Together with my parter Maddie Shuler, we produced a 13-minute documentary that discussed women in leadership roles in and around Shippensburg University. We created and maintained an Instagram account and website with updates throughout the process, and conducted several interviews with female leaders associated with Shippensburg.

SUMB Plays The Horse Virtually | 2020

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, ensembles at Shippensburg University were not able to perform together. This video was made to instill school spirit and pride during this hard time. I edited together video submissions from 40+ students to create a virtual version of the SUMB fight song. I used Final Cut Pro to piece together each video, and posted it to the band's social media accounts. Within one week, the video had reached 90 shares on Facebook and nearly 3 thousand views on YouTube.

New Hope Ministries | 2020-2021

Since 2020, I volunteered at New Hope Ministries by editing and producing several videos for the non-profit organization. These videos were posted to the New Hope Ministries YouTube page and were sent to thousands of donors.

This playlist includes a selection of videos I created using Final Cut Pro X. All video recordings were provided by New Hope Ministries.

SUMB Memory Video | 2018

Starting in Spring 2018 to the end of the year, I was a member of the Shippensburg University "Red Raider" Marching Band Public Relations Crew. The crew and I maintained the band's website, social media, and produced a memory video that was shown at the annual banquet. I was chosen edit the video all together, and I used Final Cut Pro X to create the video.
